Why S & K Consultancy Ltd?

We are a completely independent consultancy specialising in the care sector. In addition to this, by way of recognition, we have been accredited by the Financial Services Skills Council, with a National Award of being a “Later Life Accredited Adviser” thereby recognising us a trustworthy, compassionate and knowledgeable firm that actually cares about your needs.

In January 2009 a Society of Later Life Advisers (SoLLA) was established of which our adviser, Steve Lawrence, became a member. This has a stringent set of rules and a Code of Ethics with which we are extremely happy to work within.

We believe that this speaks volumes for the level of service that we offer.

We are a family concern with first hand knowledge of what problems can be uncovered when seeking advice. Unless the organisation that you are dealing with is working in the Care Sector on a full time basis, there is no guarantee that they will be up-to-date with their knowledge. This could potentially prove very expensive to you or the family if you are not given the right advice.

It is true to say that there are many Banks, Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), Solicitors and other professionals who claim to be able to advise on Care issues. Sadly, this advice can be outdated or even worse, misguided due to the way that the Care Sector operates. It is a fact that these advisers are not ‘Specialists’ but more akin to General Practitioners as they do not operate in this sector on a daily basis. Clearly, as we are involved in all aspects of care every day and are fully versed with current legislation and the changes that occur,
we think this is why you should talk to us.

Later Life Adviser Accreditation

The qualification founded by the Financial Services Skills Council and specific to the Care Sector has been awarded to our Specialist Care Consultant Steve Lawrence. This recognition is limited to a small number of specialists in the UK who have been advising in Care and forms part of the Chartered Insurance Institute's other requirements of qualifications of CF8 (Care Fees Funding), ER1 (Equity Release) and FPC (Financial Planning Certificate).

More importantly, it cements the whole by assessing the ability of the individual to provide a service of excellence to both the person needing care, the care provider and the family.

We are also a member of The Society Of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA)
